The British Post Office simplified its International Air Mail rates on January 17, 1947 by creating a Zone system (in addition to European destinations). The United States was assigned to Zone B.

Letters : 1s. per one-half ounce
Post Cards: 6d.

2. From May 1, 1952

Letters : 1s. 3d.
Post Cards : 8d.
