1937 -1953
(Post 26)
Approximately fifty different slogans were in use during the reign of George VI. Only a few slogans were used during the pre-war and war periods. The majority of slogans were created after 1945.
It is interesting to note that during the war-years, only three slogans related to the war effort:
- Grow More Food Dig For Victory
- Help To Win On The Kitchen Front
- Save Waste Paper Metal Bones Rags
- Don't Waste Bread Others Need It
- Lend A Hand On The Land
- Save Your Waste Paper For Salvage
- Britain Says Thank You For Food Gifts
